Battery won't take a full Charge?

If you are having trouble obtaining a full charge, turn the tablet totally off when it is plugged in.  Apps sometimes run in the background and will take charge off of the battery while the battery is charging - so the unit will not charge.  

After charging without turning off, you may see that the battery appears fully charged when first un-plugged, but rapidly drops "charged %".

PROTECT the Power Adapters!

It might be a good idea to purchase a pencil case, or something of that nature to put your POWER ADAPTER in when it is traveling to and from school.  Any time you are bringing your charger with you, put it in a separate case to protect the USB Mini plug.

Wifi Problems at school?

Are you having trouble connecting to the internet?  Turn your Wi-Fi on and off. That can fix the problem. (look in the settings icon on the home screen - the "subaru-ish" looking icon)

If it’s an Authentication error, then you will need to see Mr. Vela in the TAB LAB to have the Wi-Fi password re-entered.

Make sure you are NOT hitting the “Forget” option when you look at your “cchsstudents” connection. Hitting “Forget” will erase their Wi-Fi password and prevent you from connecting. You should only be using the options CONNECT or CANCEL. 

Proper Care

Please make sure you take very gentle care of the tablet machines. Do not place the tablets into a bag or backpack with the power charger plugged into the mini-USB power port.  Many chargers have been broken already.

Printing on an Android Tablet

Here is a solution for Printing from your tablet.  Unless you have a cloud printer, you will need logon to Google Chrome on your home PC, and and let Google Chrome recognize your current set up on your home PC.

Google, Kingsoft and Docs to go. . .oh MY!

What is the difference between these different word processors and how do I decide which ones to use?

Kingsoft (FREE)

PROS:
- looks and feels the most like MS Office
- Contains a "presentation" piece, so you can view / edit / create "powerpoint"

CONS:
- can not double space

Google Docs / Drive (FREE) 

PROS:
- GREAT Collaboration for small groups / classes
- Very full/robust product suite 
- Easy to use

CONS:
- No presentation
- Hard to upload to turnitin.com (have to save somewhere else first)
- Hard to organize files for long term storage
- Does not keep file formatting when interfacing with MS Word

DOCS TO GO (FREE)

PROS:
- Can create a document in MLA Formatting
- Has been around and free for a long time (many "quirks" have been worked out)
- can upload easily to turnitin.com
CONS:
- Hard to get used to using, not user friendly at first

Be vewy vewy cawe-ful

The "Mini-USB" ports on the chargers for the tablets are VERY DELICATE.  Please plug and un-plug them with CARE.
