Here is some information that is included in the box from Lenovo:
To save battery power and prevent accidental data entry, perform one of the following operations before you close the lid of the ThinkPad Tablet Keyboard Folio Case:
- Turn off the ThinkPad Tablet
- Turn off the screen and wait five to ten seconds.
Once the power button is pressed and the screen goes dark, the "touch screen" feature on the tablets remains active for 5 seconds. This is actually to ensure that you didn't press the power button by accident. So if you close the case too quickly, the screen will sense something touched it and turn back on, depleting your battery life.
Please slow down before closing your keyboard folio case to ensure it does not turn back on in your backpack.
